Mid Coast NSW
A single level country residence designed and appropriately placed within its pastoral lands setting. The siting of the residence takes advantage of the rural views including the surrounding hilltops of the mid north coast of NSW.
The residence incorporates three pavilions. The central pavilion incorporates the main entry, library and living area. The eastern pavilion incorporates the dining area, kitchen and associated facilities, and the western pavilion incorporates the owner's and guest suites all with ensuites. The residence is wrapped by the iconic Australian verandah providing shaded areas for relaxation by the owner and their guests.
The architecture and the landscape architecture were integral in the design to bring views into the house and connect the outdoor with the indoor areas. A formal garden provides an outdoor room, which also links the internal living areas to the swimming pool and barbecue facilities. Rainwater tanks are incorporated and configured for internal water use also. An orchard and herb garden adjoin the kitchen to enhance the experience for the guests.
