Seniors Lifestyle Resort Queensland

The expansion of the over 50’s lifestyle resort required new and improved recreational and community facilities to link the community and become the heart and soul of the resort. The facilities are to be integrated and allow the community to interact. A number of facilities are incorporated including a spacious community hall / social hub and bar that overlooks the valley to the north, commercial kitchen, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, cinema, library, gymnasium, craft room, billiards club, covered lawn bowls green and integrated club house, tennis courts and associated amenities, work shop, indoor golf driving range, sales office, café, hairdresser, medical clinic and manager’s residence.

The relationship between the buildings and facilities, spaces and the users were paramount in the design as it needs to be well connected and valued by the residents.

Key considerations in the design are the linkages and accessibility between the facilities, shade, light and air flow to ensure comfort and use throughout the whole year in all of the spaces and reduce the environmental footprint for such large structures.
